Armadillo

The King Armadillo Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) is a high-performance lorry mounted crash cushion introduced to the UK market in 2026. Rigorously tested to MASH TL-3 standards, including the UK NCHRP 3-51 test at 110 km/h, it is currently the highest-rated lorry mounted crash cushion available in the UK. Engineered for exceptional impact protection, the Armadillo combines proven safety performance with low-cost, reliable operation.

The King Armadillo TMA has been developed to provide industry-leading protection for road workers and motorists while keeping maintenance and operating costs to a minimum. Fully tested to MASH TL-3 (3-50, 3-51, 3-52 and 3-53) requirements, including the UK-specific NCHRP 3-51 test at 110 km/h, the Armadillo delivers outstanding crash performance across a range of impact scenarios. 

Its robust, reliable design makes it an ideal choice for highway maintenance, traffic management and infrastructure projects, offering confidence, durability and long-term value for fleet operators.

  • Fully crash tested and approved according to MASH 2016 TL-3 (3-50 | 3-51 | 3-52 | 3-53 | optional test 3-54)

  • Standard operation from the truck using a wired in-cab controller
  • Equipped with 175 A or 350 A plug supplying full system power from the vehicle’s 12 Vdc or 24 Vdc electrical system
