The King Group of Companies Takes Part in the Historic Cart Marking Ceremony 2026

The King Group of Companies was proud to once again take part in the Worshipful Company of Carmen’s Cart Marking ceremony, held on Saturday 18 July 2026 at Guildhall Yard in the City of London.

Dating back more than 750 years, Cart Marking is recognised as the earliest form of vehicle licensing. Today, it celebrates the rich history of transport, bringing together an extraordinary collection of vehicles spanning centuries of engineering and innovation.

Representing The King Group this year were:

  • 1919 Thornycroft 3-ton Dropside Lorry, proudly owned by our valued customer and good friend, J Swingler Transport.
  • 2026 Scania P360 Beavertail Plant Body, finished in its distinctive pink livery and supplied to Amy “The Digger Girl” through King Rental.

We were delighted that Amy joined us on the day and had the honour of driving the Scania P360 through the Cart Marking ceremony—a fantastic moment that was shared across social media.

Displayed side by side, the vehicles represented more than a century of progress in commercial transport, highlighting how engineering, safety and vehicle technology have continually evolved while keeping Britain moving.

The event featured an impressive range of historic and modern vehicles, all presented before representatives of the City of London as part of this long-standing tradition. After the ceremony, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch in the magnificent Guildhall Great Hall, providing a great opportunity to catch up with fellow exhibitors and celebrate another successful Cart Marking.

We would like to thank the Worshipful Company of Carmen for organising another memorable event and look forward to returning next year.
